Local Offer

Local Offer Description
  1. What does your service do?

Holistic, warm and inspiring care and education for children aged from birth to five years. We are an all inclusive setting that is happy to welcome every child. We are wheelchair user friendly, with fully qualified and competent staff. We have an all weather outdoor area, with a secure finger print entry system. Indoors we offer a stimulating and bright environment, with a sleep room, dining area and child accessible toilets and sinks. We are happy to work with external agencies to ensure each child’s needs are met. Additional support for children can be purchased or funded.

 2. Where is it located and what areas does it cover?

We are located in Corbridge, next to excellent transport links, with a large, private car park. Our children attend Nursery from all across Northumberland. We offer a wrap around service to and from Corbridge First School.

 3. Who does your service provide for?

Our Nursery is open to all children from birth to five years. We also offer school holiday care for 5 – 13yr olds, based at our Club at the Wentworth Lesiure Centre, Hexham.

4. How can I start using the service?

You can ring, email or just drop in anytime.

Registration and monthly contracted fees apply.

 5. How are decisions made about who can use your service?

The Manager will make decision as to if we can offer a suitable space for each child. Factors include space availability, ratios and extra staffing arrangements. If additional support is required, costs must be fully covered to ensure viability.

If we cannot offer a space, the reasons behind this will be fully explained.

 6. How do you communicate with service users and how are they

involved in decision making/planning?

We offer regular updates, annual customer service questionnaires, daily diaries and regular Tapestry updates.

Parents and children who require additional support will be assessed individually and we will endeavour to meet any needs.

We offer ‘stay and play’ sessions, work alongside Hexham Children’s Centre and schools, etc. to ensure customers are valued and supported.

 7. Is your service fully accessible?

The Nursery is fully wheelchair accessible, on ground floor level with bright open spaces, and appropriate personal hygiene areas.

We have a staff room and office where parents can speak to staff privately. We also have access to a meeting room, which can hold up to 8 people, on the upper floor of our building (lift accessible.)

Staff are more than happy to attend and receive specialist training.

 8. What training are the staff supporting children and young people with

SEND had or are having?

Many staff have been on SEN training, including sign language, speech and language and behaviour. Training is assessed and accessed according to need.
